How we check a watch

Movement, case, dial and serial numbers are all verified before a watch goes on the site. Our head watchmaker, Paul Bogard, spent a decade training in the Swiss watchmaking tradition across London and France, and every watch that comes through TNS crosses his bench.

Valuation works the same way. We assess each watch by hand, looking at reference, movement condition, dial, case and whether box and papers are present, then check that against live secondary market data rather than a pricing tool.

Are you an authorized Rolex dealer?

No, we're an independent dealer. Authorized dealers rarely have popular references in stock and typically require a waitlist. We carry pre-owned and vintage pieces available now, priced against what the market is actually doing.

Are the watches authentic?

Every watch is examined by our in house experts before listing, covering movement, case, dial and serial numbers. Nothing is listed that hasn't been verified.

Do the photos show the exact watch I'll receive?

Always. Every listing photo is the actual watch, no stock images and no stand-ins, down to dial patina, bracelet stretch and bezel condition.

Do the watches come with box and papers?

It varies by piece and it's stated on the listing. Box and papers affect value on resale, so we don't leave it ambiguous.

Can I trade in a watch I already own?

Do you buy watches that aren't working?

Often, yes. A non-running watch from the right brand can still be a serious piece. Send photos and details and we'll give you a straight answer.

Do you service watches too?

Yes, onsite. Our watch repair service covers battery replacement and band adjustment through to full movement overhauls, ultrasonic cleaning, case polishing, water resistance testing and vintage restoration.
